Ballroom Dancing at MIT is not an oxymoron!

As a fellowship of over 100 dancers from all facets of the MIT community, our team has grown to become one of the most successful collegiate teams in the country.  One of the reasons our team is so successful is because of the overwhelming support of our alumni.  Many team members continue to contribute to the team after they graduate, through continued participation and also through financial contributions.

Ballroom dancing is not a cheap hobby, and our team’s budget is largely allocated toward hiring coaches, providing subsidy for competitions and lessons, and for running our annual competition.  Our revenue comes primarily through entrance fees for our competition as well as team member dues.  In the long term, we are also trying to save funds for a dedicated studio space.  If you are interested in learning more about how a contribution to our team can have a direct impact on our program, please feel free to contact the team’s funding coordinator at mitbdt-fundraising@mit.edu.
